Key Step for the Town of Superior, Arizona’s Copper Corridor and Resolution Copper: USFS Republishes Final EIS, Initiating 60-Day Review
On April 17, 2025, the United States Forest Service (USFS) announced its intention to re-publish the final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Resolution Copper project, described as one of the largest undeveloped copper deposits in the U.S.
Copper powers technology, communications, infrastructure, energy and most devices in the U.S. and across the world. Ensuring a substantial domestic supply of this critical mineral is vital to America’s national security as well. Enabling the Resolution Copper Mine to move forward to its final approval will have a significant impact on our nation’s competitiveness, and on Arizona’s economy as well. Once fully operational, the Resolution Copper Mine is expected to provide 25% of U.S. copper production, and will generate invaluable economic opportunities for Superior and Arizona’s Copper Corridor.
