TSMC Announces Additional $100B Investment in Arizona to Expand Capacity

August 03, 2026

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) has announced plans to invest an additional $100 billion to expand its U.S. manufacturing operations, bringing its total planned U.S. investment to $265 billion.

The company, a leading supplier to technology giants including Nvidia and Apple, continues to expand its Arizona footprint with six planned semiconductor fabrication facilities, reinforcing the state’s position as a global hub for advanced chip manufacturing and supporting growing demand driven by artificial intelligence and next-generation computing.

Since 2020, Arizona has secured more than 70 semiconductor expansion projects totaling over $314 billion in investment—the highest concentration of semiconductor investment in the nation. These projects span the entire semiconductor ecosystem, from advanced chip manufacturing and packaging to equipment, materials, research and development and supply chain operations.

To support the industry’s rapid growth, state, regional and federal partners have also expanded workforce development efforts through initiatives that create new education and training pathways to prepare the next generation of semiconductor talent.
