Arizona Ranks in Top 10 in Lightcast 2025 Talent Attraction Scorecard

December 29, 2025

Unveiled at the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) Annual Conference in Detroit in September, Lightcast presented its 2025 Talent Attraction Scorecard, marketing ten years since first analyzing these workforce migration patterns.

Arizona secured the #7 spot for talent attraction across the country, joining numerous other Top 10 rankings reinforcing the state as a highly desirable location for businesses and individuals alike.

The Scorecard assesses all 50 states and more than 900 metropolitan and micropolitan areas using seven equally weighted factors: overall job growth, growth in college-level jobs, growth in blue-collar jobs, growth in high-earning jobs, regional competitiveness, the attraction of earners and the attraction of prime-age talent (ages 25-54). It draws on a blend of proprietary Lightcast data and government sources—including Census statistics—that Lightcast analyzes and refines to produce the final metrics.
