In a recent interview with Pinal Central’s Pinal’s People, Superior Mayor Mila Besich shared her vision for the Town, one of the oldest communities in Pinal County. Superior has a rich, vibrant history and is very near and dear to Mayor Besich’s heart, as five generations of her family has lived in the community.
In looking to the future, Mayor Besich shared with Pinal’s People, “We’re doing some innovative things. We’re scrappy. We’ve got a very tiny staff, but we have a team of people from our council (to everyone on our staff) where we’re all aligned for a mission and a vision to make our community as strong as possible and leverage every opportunity.”
With the recent announcement of the Resolution Copper mine project moving one step closer to reality, Besich is understandably energized about the potential impact on the Town of Superior and the Copper Corridor, stating, “This is going to be a huge opportunity, not just for Superior, but the entire state,” she said. “It’s the equivalent of six Super Bowls a year happening in our economy.”
